Letter to Our Prospective Rector
Dear Brother/Sister in Christ,
We are grateful that Grace Church caught your eye and that you will prayerfully consider whether God is calling you to shepherd us. Our worship community is bursting with excitement and expectation about what God is going to do through us with His newly appointed servant at the helm.
Grace Church is nestled on the main street of a beautiful shoreline community whose residents greatly value its history and the arts. There are parishioners who live within walking distance in Old Saybrook, others in different shoreline towns, and some who travel almost an hour to come to worship here at Grace.
Our Spirit filled body looks to the living Word of God as its immovable reference in all things. We are known for recognizing needs and seeking God’s wisdom to fill them. We rejoice, giving honor and glory to God for all that we accomplish together.
We are prayerfully seeking a Spirit-led leader who can identify our gifts and lovingly equip us as we continue to minister to others. It is the desire of our hearts to embrace diversity and move into the future with our methods of worship so as to appeal to a variety of people from all generations without compromising biblical standards or dismissing traditional Episcopal worship services.
